Blog4 1981

It’s 1981 and I just woke up to the sound of my roommate screaming in my ear that we’re going to be late for class. I jumped out of the top bunk and threw on some dirty clothes so we can make it to World History on time. I shut off the small television in the corner that has been set to MTV for weeks now and rush out the door. We walk in as the class is just getting started and we found seats in the back. An hour into the boring lecture we decide to leave to catch the new movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark, playing down at the local movie theater. After the movie, we caught up with some friends and to the bar, Larry’s, where we would all hang out and watch basketball games at when we were avoiding homework and studying. The game tonight was the Philadelphia 76ers and the Los Angeles Laker. We were in awe watching the Lakers guard, Magic Johnson, pass the ball without looking and hitting amazing shots. After the game we decide to go to a party at one of the Frat houses on campus. We partied and drank until the cops came and sent us home. My roommate and I got back to our room at three in the morning, hopefully we can wake up for 8am economics in a few hours.

FOOD AD

I believe one of the most effective ads are the kind that stick in the consumers head and keep them laughing. Many people by products because of who is in the advertisement and endorsing the product. For that reason, many people do not consider buying off brands that may be cheaper, but are not popular. My ad has a catchy jingle as the advertisement.

The ad I chose is from Hillshire Farms salad with meat, the office workers sing how awesome and tasty the salad is with all the meat you get with it. Many people have the jingle stuck in their head after hearing it.  I have never had a Hillshire Farm salad, but it looks to have more meatyness than other salads.

ecological footprint

After I took the ecological footprint survey online and learned it would take 4 earths to support an entire world of me. To support my lifestyle, it would take 17.8 global acres of the Earth’s productive area. Ecological footprints show what kind of impact on person has on global resources. One area where it seems I can really reduce my footprint is by using less electricity and recycling a lot more often. Energy takes up most of my global acres and it seems easy enough to reduce my usage. It’s really eye opening to see how much resources we use and how easily we could use less.

ABOUT ME!

Hi everyone.  My name is James Stansell and I’m a freshman and Biology major at Florida Gulf Coast University. I’m from Davie, Florida which is a small town outside of Ft. Lauderdale.  I went to Western High School.  I played baseball there my freshman and sophomore years until I suffered a torn hamstring. I underwent two surgeries and had to stop playing baseball. The whole process of seeing many doctors really influenced me on my future goals.  After my four years of college I want to go to medical school and become an orthopedic surgeon and hopefully a team doctor for a professional sports team.  I like to spend time with my friends playing sports, video games, or just sitting around making fun of each other. We go to the Hard Rock Casino and play poker even though I’ve lost way more than I’ve won. I’m a really friendly and easy going person, I don’t think I’ve ever been mad.  I have a dog, Roscoe, who is a two year old Black Labrador Retriever.  My older sister Kim is 23 and is at FSU working on her Masters.  I love fishing, I try to go whenever I can. I keep my pole in the back of my car just in case.  Some of my favorite TV shows are Entourage, The Office, Scrubs, Tosh.0, Weeds, and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I also know every line of Superbad, Step-Brothers, and Talladega Nights. If you have any questions feel free to ask me!
